1. Why should I have my gutters and downspouts cleaned?

An image illustrating gutter damage

The purpose of gutters and downspouts is to direct water from your roof away from your house. When gutters are full and downspouts are clogged, they cannot effectively perform this essential function, which leads to water backing up. The backed up water can result in costly damage to your fascia boards, siding and trim and can even result in flooded basements or foundations issues. Thus, it is very important to keep your gutters and downspouts in good condition by having them cleaned regularly.

However, if you are having gutter issues, it is best to have them cleaned immediately, as it may save you from greater issues, headaches and expense in the long run.
